Addressing Friday prayers congregation of Tehran, Ayatollah Jannati also described the move as a maniac move and said that the holy book does not belong to Iran alone; rather it belongs to 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.
“It belongs to the previous and next generations,” he went on to say.
Stating that such sacrilegious act against Quran will be detrimental to the perpetrators, Jannai noted that the opinion polls reveal that 84 percent of the Americans consider the US administration responsible for 9/11 attacks.
“If one has logic, he will never burn Quran,” he contended.
So doing, they harmed the sentiments of Muslims all over the world, he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and said disappointment and pessimism should not be injected to society.
People should trust the officials, he noted.
